Hope for When Your Life Doesn't Feel Normal

Grace for me is very messy. It’s not always pristine and white and clean and beautiful. But for me grace has gotten down in the muck and the mire with me, and God has been present with me through every experience. Good, and not so lovely.

If you were to look at my life today - husband, father, and hard worker - you'd probably say it seems pretty typical. But my life hasn't always been that way.

Messy grace has offered me an opportunity to reboot my life and marriage, and has given me a new sense of hope. In a recent conversation with Tracy Winchell of the Reboots Podcast, I had the honor of sharing my story.

Tracy calls our talk a "primer" in messy grace. In this episode we talk about faith, trauma, recovery, and so much more. Topics include:

  • mental health
  • messy grace
  • childhood sexual abuse
  • the truth about healing
  • Cosmic Santa Claus
  • suicide
  • fear-filled religion
  • the difference in redemption and restoration

I don't often talk about things like grace or faith on this blog. The purpose of this site and my life coaching is to offer practical tips toward living your best life, whatever that looks like - faith or not. But if you find yourself hurt by the church, or traumatized by past abuse, or serving in ministry and feeling like the walking wounded, I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you.

I have created a self-care program just for someone like you. If you're ready to find healing, messy grace, and hope for your future, sign up at the link below.

Together, we can do what seems impossible,

Steve
